In 2022, Orange Cat established a partnership with Taurus, a century-old bicycle manufacturer. Taurus manufactures bicycles following a tradition that has been passed down through generations. Throughout more than 100 years of business, Taurus has maintained its core distinctive values upon which the identity and appeal of its bikes are based: craftsmanship, tradition, luxury, and performance. Taurus bicycles are still handcrafted, upholding the standard of quality and style from its inception.
ONCE UPON A TIME, THERE WAS A KING WHO LOVED RIDING
HIS BICYCLE…
What might seem like the beginning of a fable is, instead, part of the history of our manufacturer. It originated in Milan in 1908 in a small workshop where bicycles were handcrafted with time-honed special attention to detail. This dedication to achieving perfection in all aspects of craftsmanship, elegance, and performance was key in earning Taurus love and appreciation from an attentive and demanding public. It is not surprising that this bicycle was the preferred bicycle of King Vittorio Emanuele III. A bicycle for royals that throughout the decades has continued to respect tradition without losing its iconic style. Taurus continues its innovative practice of sustainable innovation with current sustainable solutions. Taurus bicycles are timeless; leveraging a style that remains unchanged since its first prototypes. Its unparalleled standards of quality ensures durability that can withstand the rest of time.
The Taurus Tradition:
German Influence
and Origins

In 1908, engineers Vittorio and Umberto Fabbri founded Taurus. From its establishment until the First World War, Taurus imported components from Germany and completed the assembly process in its workshop in Italy. Traces of this German trade are still present nowadays in historical records of the Taurus crest which displays a harpy with extended wings. This mythological animal with the body of a bird of prey and a human head is found in one of the crests belonging to the city of Nuremberg.
During the 40s and 50s, Taurus' success allowed them to open a second retail shop in Via Maiocchi in Milan, in addition to the original one in Piazza della Repubblica. In those years, model no.25 (naming bicycle models after numbers is an old Taurus custom) became the most popular style with its draw-rod break system inside the frame.
In the mid-50s, the Fabbri brothers sold the business to Mr. Fassi who then dedicated years of his life to the manufacture of bicycles. Production was moved to the Vanzaghello factory, and the company expanded its portfolio with the added manufacture of motorbikes. Later, Taurus also produced racing bicycles for athletes.
